Leslie Campione

FOUNDER OF CAMPIONE LAW. Leslie Shamrock Campione Leslie Shamrock Campione was born in Orlando, Florida, and moved to Lake County with her family in 1971. She graduated from Eustis High School in 1982, where she participated in varsity sports, served as FCA Female Huddle Captain, and as a senior was selected as FCA’s National Female Athlete of the Year. In 1986, Leslie received her Bachelor of Arts degree with academic honors from Furman University, Greenville, S.C. While at Furman, Leslie played Varsity basketball, played intramural sports, was on the water ski club, and served as the first female president of Furman’s FCA Huddle. In 1989, Leslie graduated with Honors from the University of Florida College of Law where she was a Member of the Moot Court Team. After graduating from law school, Leslie worked in Atlanta, Georgia at the law firm of Kutak, Rock & Campbell practicing in the area of municipal finance and public policy. Since 1993, Leslie has owned her own law practice focusing in the areas of local government law, environmental law, real property, business and land use law. She has served as the City Attorney for the Town of Lady Lake, the Town of Montverde, and the City of Umatilla. Leslie was elected to the Lake County Board of County Commissioners in 2010 and re-elected in 2014 for a second four-year term, and served as Chairman of the Lake County Board of County Commissioners in 2012 and 2013, and a currently is Vice-Chair of the County Commission.


She serves on the Board of Directors of Lake Emergency Medical Services, Lake-Sumter MPO, and was appointed by Governor Scott to the Wekiva River Basin Commission where she has served since 2012. Leslie is a strong proponent of economic development and free market principles, and is committed to fostering a climate for positive economic activity, small business ownership, and job creation through good planning and balanced policies that protect Lake County’s valuable natural resources and unique quality of life. Leslie has two children, three stepchildren, and is married to Dr. Jack Cassell. During her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, exercise, spending time with her family and playing with her three dogs. She has served the community in many capacities, including Junior Achievement teacher, YMCA Coach, Eustis Service League President, Youth Leader and Sunday School Teacher, Leadership Lake County and lawyer-teacher with the Justice Teaching Program. Leslie believes strongly in the mission of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the important role it plays in the lives of student-athletes by enriching their character, value-system, and relationship with others through their walk with Jesus Christ.
